Edgar Cayce

Edgar Cayce, the American famous "sleeping prophet" and psychic, was one of six children raised on a Kentucky farm. His first encounter of his deceased grandfather wasn't clear, but it started his journey into unknown. Cayce gave psychic readings to thousands of people and diagnosed illnesses while in an unconscious state. Unfit for regular labor due to his early injury that led to a loss of speech, he tried himself as a photographer.

In 1901 he met a traveling stage hypnotist who performed a series of sessions with Edgar in an attempt to recover his voice. During the treatment, Cayce discovered his ability to put himself in a state of trance and channel the universal consciousness. From there, he could answers questions of others. Over time, his popularity increased, and he began his full practice full-time.

Cayce was married at the age of 20 and had three children.

His readings weren't systematically recorded, but he is attributed to such abilities as astral projection, prophesying, mediumship, and seeing auras. During his sessions, he interpreted the history of Earth, nowadays calls polygenism. He accepted the existence of aliens and Atlantis.
